World Music Network are a leading independent label in the UK. From compilations of Psychedelic Cambodian rock to the Grammy-Nominated Indian slide-guitarist Debashish Bhattacharya, the label has been responsible for the most consistent and varied output of world music over the past 30 years.

Their website that was custom built in the early 2000’s was stuck in an old business model that was focused around CD sales which was their main revenue generator. However, as the music industry started to thrive online, it was very important for World Music Network to start accommodating their digitally savvy customers.
Additionally, this old school website did not have the ability to connect with analytic software which meant World Music Network has no shopping cart metrics!
Another big concern was that they didn’t have a mobile version of their website which is seriously misaligned with the market for music consumption.
Our focus was to create a technically advanced eCommerce site for World Music Network that not only functioned great but also generated an increased revenue.
Our first point of call was to design a mobile optimised site to ensure purchases can be made from all devices. Secondly, we integrated every product with Apple Music, Spotify & Soundcloud to allow users to listen to their music across all popular listening platforms. This integration also allows World Music Network to obtain revenue from each listening stream.
World Music Network have a huge catalogue of music from around the world so ensuring that it’s easy for customers to find their favourite artist is a must! We developed an easy to use project filtering system that allows customers to search based on the music genre, region, label and many more!
Considering that their old business model was superseded by the growth of online sales, we worked with World Music Network to create a new business model that would continuously engage existing customers, help bring in new customers and lastly but most importantly, would be an ongoing revenue stream. So with our goals decided, we introduced a subscription platform within the website.
